POSTURAL AND BALANCE TRAINING SESSION

The Neuroaid and Research Foundation organised a special Postural and Balance Training Session on 13th September, 2025 at Panchwati Old Age Home with the objective of promoting mobility, independence, and fall-prevention among the elderly residents.

The session began by sensitizing participants to the importance of correct posture, joint alignment, and balance in daily activities. Simple warm-up exercises were demonstrated, followed by structured training focused on:

  • Postural correction – awareness of sitting and standing alignment to reduce strain on the spine and joints.
  • Balance training – step-by-step exercises to improve stability, coordination, and confidence in walking.
  • Strengthening routines – light movements designed to maintain lower limb strength, essential for fall prevention.
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques – to promote overall well-being and reduce stiffness.

15 residents actively participated, showing enthusiasm and eagerness to learn exercises that could be easily practiced in their daily routine. The interactive format allowed them to clarify doubts and receive individual guidance.

The session concluded with positive feedback from the participants, who expressed that the training not only boosted their physical confidence but also uplifted their spirits. The organizers emphasized the need for regular follow-ups to ensure continuity and long-term benefits.

NRF’s initiative at Panchwati Old Age Home reflects the growing importance of physiotherapy-based interventions in enhancing the quality of life of the elderly, encouraging healthy aging, and fostering independence in a safe and supportive environment.
